UK Miliband the Man

It is not a surprise to hear that LTTE can “buy” this kind of people for dollars.

David Miliband's spending on his constituency home was so extensive that even his gardener questioned whether some of the costs were strictly necessary.
Mr Miliband fell foul of rules which prohibit MPs from claiming any costs relating to their children. His application for reimbursement for a £199 pram and £80 in “baby essentials” were both rejected.

David Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, has apologised for the MPs' expenses scandal but says he will not be paying back any taxpayers' money from his own claims.

Tamil Tiger leader dead: Sri Lanka official

COLOMBO (AFP) — The leader of Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels, Velupillai Prabhakaran, was shot dead on Monday while trying to flee government troops, a senior defence official told AFP.

Prabhakaran was in a small convoy of a van and ambulance along with a few aides which tried to drive out of the battle zone, but was attacked and killed, the senior defence ministry official said on condition he not be named.

"He was killed with two others inside the vehicle. There will be a formal announcement later," the official said.

"When the troops opened fire, the van tried to get away, but it was also hit," said another high-level source from the military. "The vehicle caught fire."

Earlier on Monday, Prabhakaran's son, Charles Anthony, and several other senior leaders were shot dead by special forces commandos, defence officials said.

LTTE's shocking use of banned weaponry

White phosphorus targeting fleeing hostages

* Use of civilians as Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD)

What we are witnessing is outrageous and the worst exhibition of treachery against the very people it claimed to 'represent' over the years. Systematically the LTTE, an internationally banned terrorist outfit, has drawn the lines for the mass execution of Tamil civilians while crying out for a third party intervention to provide an escape route and sanctuary for the LTTE leader Prabhakaran and his band of terrorists.

According to reliable ground information received, terrorists are reportedly laying large quantities of white phosphorus surrounding makeshift camps of hostages within the narrow strip of land it still holds, and are burying improvised bombs that would ultimately result in a humanitarian catastrophe, with the bomb explosions leading to phosphorous burns on both civilians and advancing troops.

Then LTTE used this tactic at Visuamadu surrounding temporary shelters meant for elders with white phosphorous, were denied creating a major tragedy due to swift infantry advances there. "The use of such cowardly tactics is indeed worsening the unnecessary suffering of the hostages held at gunpoint and the indiscriminate use of such incendiary agents by the LTTE is reprehensible and should be noted by the international human rights community", the defence observer further said.

Meanwhile, 58 Division troops advancing along the A-35 main road, south of Rektavaikkal have recently uncovered a large haul of improvised phosphorous bombs, security sources said.

Protocol - III of the Geneva Convention on Certain Weapons 1980, prohibits and restricts the use of incendiary weapons: flame throwers, foul gasses, shells, rockets, grenades, mines, bombs and other containers of incendiary substances.

UN Security Council refuses to swallow LTTE propaganda pills

op diplomats from Britain and France were rebuffed Monday (May 11), when UN Security Council members refused their request to discuss on the on-going hostage rescue operations in Sri Lanka, despite extensive and relentless LTTE propaganda efforts to spin tables in favour, expecting a breather for the internationally proscribed terrorist outfit now facing total defeat.

The council members that opposed taking up the issue were not named publicly.

Foreign Ministers David Miliband of Britain and Bernard Kouchner of France were also joined by Austria's Michael Spindelegger, the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs, to protest inaction by the 15-nation council at UN headquarters in New York.

When asked which council members opposed their request, Miliband said, 'We can only speak for ourselves. Others can speak for themselves.'

'We are clear, this is an issue that the UN Security Council should address, it involves major civilian loss of lives and distress,' Miliband said. 'It does have ramifications for the region. We as European members of the UN Security Council, we believe that the issues belong here.'

As a rule and unless a crisis is already on the council's agenda, a majority of nine council members have to approve a new issue be put on the agenda of discussion. Some council members have opposed discussion over matters they consider domestic matters.

China in the past opposed discussion of Myanmar's political crisis and Russia opposed discussion of Chechnya, where armed opposition was fighting Russian troops for independence.

'Thousands of Sri Lankans have already died in the past several months due to the conflict, and more still remain in grave danger,' Ban said, adding that he was appalled at the killing.

'The reckless disrespect shown by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) for the safety of civilians has led to thousands of people remaining trapped in the area,' Secretary General Ban said.

Switzerland are supporting the terrorists, LTTE, Tamil Tigers

The remaining LTTE fighters use more than 100,000 civilians as human shields. The Tamils who live under LTTE control, have been subjected to false teachings. The end result is that many civilians nothing more terrible than did expect from the government and army. So few are the LTTE terrorists have been able to those many civilians to persuade the LTTE retreating to accompany. The LTTE, most of this conviction by the injured Videos Tamil civilians at the show also want to go. The government has established a safety zone, so that civilians in the LTTE area (less than a hundred square kilometers) back to safety, but the LTTE fire in the security zone and push the blame on the government. The victims still trying to flee. This was reason enough for pro-LTTE groups around the world to organize demonstrations in order to stop the fighting. The Sri Lankan government stop military operations, not because the terrorists would reorganize again, and the LTTE leader and his key staff on the island is to guerrilla war, with lots of travel further terrorist attacks. The government knows this, while the pro-LTTE party goers Overseas ignore it. Despite the demonstrations, advise the international community to the LTTE, the campaign, with the shields Tamil civilians''to stop and to pass instead of the Sri Lankan government to compel them to accept a ceasefire. They remain non-governmental organizations (NGOs, like the UN, ICRC and other aid groups) steadfast advocate of a ceasefire. The main reason lies in the fact that most of these INGO and NGO staff had no job when the war is over. The NGO and INGO's are supporting the terrorists enough to work for themselves in order to secure mainly the INGO in Sri Lanka's further stay and work. The major part of the INGO's are young Americans to Europe and a great time in Sri Lanka would like to spend a seaside holiday and stay in a 5 star hotel with all luxury and nightlife. In order to finance is a big part of the donated money actually on it and the remains of relief supplies and support for the war. The government can now use its own people in the relief work of the former LTTE area take over and hopes that definitely INGO and NGO are weggetrieben. The army, there are many well-built bunkers and command a surface villa, which seem Velupillai Prabhakaran LTTE leaders belonged. More importantly, the troops discover large LTTE camps with weapons and other military equipment.
Unfortunately, our donations to the poor people and victims of war over and the only relief organization wait until the next slaughter, like vultures to pounce on it.
Again and again we read an article in the newspaper of the poorly researched, and we have a false image reflects. And every now and then writes an influence on the Swiss with a refugee is married, about the genocide of the Tamil population in Sri Lanka. But the fact is that the so-called, 'Representatives of the Sri Lankan Tamils''the LTTE to kill their own people and even after 30 years is now a vacuum in their leadership have caused. The LTTE have killed many Tamil leadership and a whole generation of Tamils injured and contaminated

What washington times have to say about tigers at bay

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, one of the world's most violent terrorist outfits, are surrounded in northern Sri Lanka and about to be destroyed - but Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and European self-styled peacemakers are getting in the way of victory. The meddlers should let Colombo finish off this menace.

In desperation, the Tamil Tigers are using tens of thousands of locals as human shields. The Sri Lankan government declared a cease-fire and called on the Tigers to release their hostages, but unmanned-aerial-vehicle video footage shows the terrorists holding masses of innocents at gunpoint, refusing them freedom. Last week, Mrs. Clinton played into the hands of the terrorists by blaming the Sri Lankan government for the crisis. "The entire world is very disappointed" that they were "causing such untold suffering," she said.
